The history from the “E Cinemas” website:
The Europa Palast “Palace of Europe” opened on the 08/29/1952, near the Frankfurt Hauptwache with 1050 seats, followed by the second cinema, the Esplanade on 09/17/1954 with 350 seats. The third screen Elysee opened in 1971 with 311 seats
Today’s e-CINEMAS consist of eight individual cinemas with names each begin with an “e.”, hence the name E-CINEMA. Europa, Esplanade 1 & 2, Elite, Eden, Elysee 1 & 2, Esprit 2. Seating in 2007: 466/223/269/62/144/97/61/56.
The foyer was remodeled in 2008.
