Without a doubt. This is the location of Laemmle’s White Front Theatre (a.k.a. Laemmle’s Five-cent Theatre, from the Chicago Address Directory) … So many argue the location. My research over the past 36 years, legwork and interviews having lived in the city for most of my life proves that this is indeed the location. Much of the building has changed since I discovered it in 1979. The large building beside of it to the north was never there in 1906. There was a matching side to the White Front long ago, but it was destroyed by fire long after Mr. Laemmle left it. The photo that you now see is what remains. The White Front was never torn down, only the north side of it’s original frame. Thank you.
