The success of Automatic Vaudeville and Crystal Hall encouraged Adolph Zukor and Marcus Loew to open the Comedy Theatre next door. The premises were originally a store, but had been used by Zukor and Loew for their Hale’s Tours franchise. The Comedy presented both movies and vaudeville.
