This theatre goes back to the silent theatre days in the 1920s. It was located on the corner of Bergen Street and Mapes Avenue. Not listed in the 1944 or subsequent Film Daily Yearbooks.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

there was a Park theater operating at that location at least into the early seventies. It was operated by Redstone/General Amusements and most likely closed due to the economic turndown in Newark following the infamous riots.

thanks for the tip.

The Park Theatre is indeed listed in the 1944, 1951 & 1956 Film Daily Yearbooks with a seating capacity of 900, 920 & 920 respectively.
It is NOT listed in the 1970 Film Daily Yearbook under Redstone; perhaps they closed it shortly after the riots.
