The building formerly housed Mayfield Twin Cinema in the Plaza Shopping Center in Mayfield. The Mayfield Twin Cinema was built as a 16mm house in the late-1960's or early-1970's. It was upgraded to 35mm equipment in the 1970's and operated until sometime in the mid to late-1980's, when it closed. This then left the Cardinal Drive-In as the only movie theater in Mayfield until it closed in 1998.

There had been no movie theater in Mayfield until the Princess Theatre opened in the building 2006
