The Palace opened in 1925 and is built entirely out of redwood.

The Palace closed in 1982 and was renovated and reopened in 1991.

The original Robert Morton pipe organ is being restored and now has six ranks playing. Info and photos can be seen at http://htos.palacehilo.org/
The well known Waikiki Theatre pipe organ has been saved and is being added to the Palace organ.

The Palace Theatre was built by Mr. Adam Baker after he closed his old Gaiety Theatre.

Great to hear you are still saving and restoring organs Scott!
Bob,I was so sorry to hear of the closing of Waikiki #3 but happy to hear the organ has been saved. Some day I hope to visit Hilo again and visit the Palace.

My wife and I were on the Big Island for a short vacation last week and had a chance to see the Palace Theatre and several others. When is the photo upload going to be fixed, as this is another one that I now have some nice pictures of. It would be nice to see a photo in the box at the top.
