From an article that I found on this theater:

"A recent addition to the National Register in 2002 is the Victory Theater, which was a pure community initiated development project. This silent movie theater was built in 1927 by a highly respected architect, A.O. Clark, and is believed to be his only theater design. In 1977, the building became an indoor flea market and began to deteriorate.

When the local community theater group approached the Main Street program in 1994 to help find a performance space downtown, the Victory Theater was poised for renovation. Main Street Rogers helped hire architects, complete a pro-forma analysis of the building, and then applied for and received a $30,560 Model Business Grant from MSA to complement its own mini-grant. After a sum of $2 million and 10,000 volunteer hours, the opening gala in 2000 announced to the community, “Victory is Ours!”.

This is the article that LM was referring to in his 4/2/06 post. You have to go to page 11 to read about the theater. There is a before picture when the theater was a flea market in the 1970s.

Two things on this theatre, first should it be listed under its current name Rogers Little Theatre with an AKA Victory Theatre and second was this at one time called the New Victory Theatre. The Historical Society magazine mentions it both as the Victory and the New Victory.

Here is a 1985 photo of the Victory Theater building. The location given with the photo is incorrect.
