This family owned theatre opened in 1923 seating 406. It remained family owned until its closing two years ago when the owner passed away. The theatre with a two story white stucco front is still in excellent condition and could reopen tomorrow as it looks today. The main auditorium dropped to a single story building. The theatre showed two or three different movies each week end. The owners lived on the second floor at the front of the building.

Another notable aspect of the Kahei Theatre was its free standing single person box office at the front of the theatre.
