The Blair Theatre opened in 1928 with 720 seats. Located in downtown Belleville, it was granted a $200,000 tax credit by the state of Kansas in 2000 towards the conversion and renovation of the former movie house into a cultural and community center. The Spanish Colonial style facade with its polychrome terra-cotta and red brickwork is notable for its vintage marquee and vertical sign.

A beautiful color photo of the facade is on this web site, fourth row down, at the extreme right. Click on it to isolate it, and then click again to enlarge it.

The grant was back in 2003. The local Main Street group states on their website that the Blair is under renovation and opening soon. No timetable, though.

The Blair Theater is listed in 1955 with 720 seats. How many seats does it have now?

It has 208 seats on the main floor. The plans are to open the balcony sometime later.

Thanks. Number of seats at the top of the page should be 208. When the balcony is open again, you could give the updated seat count.

That might be, but function should be movies.

Function should be first run movies, since Coraline is showing as of today.

And status should be open.
