Opened in 1984, it was initially known as The Roxy/Pussycat Theatre, sharing telephone directory space with the Pussycat in Ventura (formerly the Mayfair Theatre). In 1985, it was taken over by Metropolitan and named the College Cinema, becoming the Goleta Theatre in 1986 and operating as such through 1990 or so. An unassuming stuccoed building, it's now divided into retail offices, and, as perhaps a nod to its former incarnation, a bar named the "Bak Dor" sits at the rear. The marquee out front remains, though - a rounded square bolt-on job, nothing fancy.

I am desprate to find one of the old Marquees. You know, the oval w/ the Ms. Pussycat and "It's a Pussycat Theatre" Any photos would be great! i have only been able to locate pics of The Tiki and the New View.

Thanks!

I installed all of the projection equipment in this house for Walnut Properties/Pussycat Theatres. Seems like a long time ago now.
