The Ben Ali Theatre opened in 1913, and was built by (and named for)a prominent area businessman, James Ben Ali Haggin. The Ben Ali Theatre was originally designed for legitimate theatre, but within two years of its opening, had become primarily a movie house. The theater was closed and torn down in 1965, replaced by a parking lot.

At this theater in the 1950's, on Monday nights I believe, one could view in addition to the currently running film, five acts of Vaudville.

Thru 1935 operated by Phoenix Amussement Co. and then by the Schrine Circuit.

It's Schine, not Schrine.
