Many theatres from the early part of the 20th century were built right in residential neighborhoods before zoning regulations prohibited this. The Cleveland Theatre in Springfield is one such theatre. However, it is very oddly located. It is actually situated behind the backyards of the houses on Cleveland Street. The building can be accessed by a small driveway.

It now houses Pioneer Shade and Awning and has not been home to a theatre in many years - probably since talkies came out.
