Chandler Cinemas

The mini-review for this place was written well before it opened I guess. The food there is terrible and undercooked. The pretzel we got was in four pieces, the cheese sticks did not have dipping sauce (marinara anyone?) the popcorn is the same you get at the Wal-Mart or Target concession stand and was as fresh as the stuff you get at the ballpark at the last homestand-in other words terrible as well. The carpet and painting is all the same as the other theaters that have been in there-nothing updated. In fact the only thing that was new was the fryer for food. New York Style Pizza? Try Frozen Freschetta right from the box. Service-just about as slow as anyone could go without falling over. The only decent thing they have added were tables in between the seats in the back. The sound is as terrible as it was when it was a "dollar" theater. They didn't even have liners in the trash bins...simply put do not waste your time going here. Spend the extra 50 cents and go to Harkins and such. In fact speaking of wasting time, do not waste the time of the owners by going here, this place just needs to close down and they can move on to some other grand project.

Everything the previous person posted is completely accurate. Why is it called a grill if they only have a mediocre fryer? $8.50 and the place smells funny, they didn't know how to open the cash drawer so we had to use a credit card. The first 30 minutes of the movie the picture was messed up and the sound was like it was coming out of an exhaust pipe. The pizza really is freschetta and I tried to order their hot wings but they didn't have any of the hot wing sauce and they are really just microwave chicken nuggets anyway. By far the worst theatre I have ever been to in my life. Do not under any circumstances think you it could ever be a good idea to go here.

What's worse...when I went we used a coupon they offered for 2 free tickets and I still feel cheated by going there!I can't possibly say enough bad things about this place.

I agree with all above posters. But I figured the more bad comments the more it might stear you away. I just wish there were more sites I could write this too. The food was the same you would get at ANY theater but maybe if possibly worse. I had to wait 10 minutes for them to actually defrost a hotdog bun. There are ony tables in the back 4 rows and the tables are set 2 seats table 2 seats table. There are no booster seats for the kids. And though it may seem a minimal complaint there are no trashcans in the lobby or anywhere but a small one in each theater. Since it is run on minimal staffing the theaters do not get cleaned after each viewing and there is no previews before the movies (do not go early). Better yet go to a Nicer theater and have a hotdog or pizza there!

Apparently I'm in the minority because I like Valley View. Too many times I've gone to the theater at the big mall in nearby Chandler and couldn't find a parking spot within one-half mile, or have gone to another theater of that same chain where the single-personed ticket line goes out to the driveway and moves at a snail's pace. Here I park close, don't wait in line, and see current movies for a lower price. The popcorn's okay to me too. I'd like to see the $1 soft drink refill with an annual cup.

At Harkins Chandler I think the furthest I have parked is at Sears-which isn't too far of a walk and isn't going to kill anyone to walk a bit. As far as lines at the ticket wondows-go inside they have several kiosks where you purchase tickets with no wait at all. Valley View is what 50 cents cheaper than Harkins and the way I see it my 50 cents spent is worth it to have nice stadium seating, digital sound fresh food, $1 drinks. Basically you get a great movie expirience for a whole 50 cents more compared to a miserable, dirty theater with sound that on a good day sounds like listening through headphones. But your opinion is yours and enjoy Valley View while you can. It goes without saying it won't last much longer at this rate.

i added them to my myspace i run a single screen historic movie house in south jersey with my films being forced out in favor of live plays i respect there game plan of cult classics and 2nd run flicks at a discount rate the economy is terrible right now and entertainment is so vital

I lived in Chandler briefly when I was younger. This was a first run theater at the time (the main theater if I remember correctly). Saw lots of movies there including Baby Boom, Flowers in the Attic, Three Men and a Baby, Beetlejuice, Willow, Crocodile Dundee 2, Big, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Bambi and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Good times!
