I remember a building roughly at this location in the early 80's that looked like it was at one time a movie house. It was either a drug store or an auto parts store,in feeble memories.

The Capitol Theater was not located at the address above. It was located at 2606 Sixth Avenue.

The theater was known as the Washington Theater when it first opened in 1913. It was designed by Lundberg and Mahon and operated by L. Metzger. This theater had a capacity of 500. It was renamed Everbody's Theater in 1920 and then was finally named the Capitol in 1926.

Could be wrong, but I believe this building now houses the Herban Cafe.
