The Redskin Theatre is located in downtown Anadarko, OK. It features an American Indian marquee complete with arrows directing you inside. The arrows appear not only in the neon, but also on the tiles under your feet. This theatre is huge as it opens up into its main auditorium. It features the old style stadium seating. Yes, folks stadium seating is not a new idea. The seats have been replaced and there is plently of leg room. The picture and sound quality is excellent.

At the top of the theatre across from the projection room is an old fashioned cry room. The most fascinating things, however, are the American Indian murals drawn on the walls of the auditorium. I forget the name of the artist, but I know he was a well known Indian artist in his day. The Black family now owns and operates the Redskin Theatre, and I'm sure they can give you the details.

The Redskin Theatre is easily accessible coming from Oklahoma City, so I encourage both theatre lovers and art lovers alike to check out the hidden gem in Anadarko.

A sad 1999 view of the closed Redskin Theater in Anadarko.

The Redskin is still showing movies, though it does appear to have been twinned, based on their current movie scheduling.

Better twinned than gone....

The Redskin Theater is listed in 1955 with 833 seats. I don't know what the seating would be after being twinned.
