The Garden Theatre was an open air theatre in the praya reclamation grounds of Wanchai neighbourhood of Hong Kong Islands. The exact location of the cinema is still unknown. It opened on 6th June, 1932 and supposedly closed on 10th October, 1932. The opening attraction of the cinema was Maurice Chavalier's "The Smiling Lieutenant", and the last film being shown was Jeanette MacDonald's "Let's Go Native".

The opening advertisement published by China Mail on 4th July,1932 said that:

"With its myriads of incandescent lights, hundreds of big palms and trees and beautiful decorations, the open air theatre will be a most popular place of amusement in the city for the summer months--Two performances will be given nightly at 7.30 and 9.20 pm.--The theatre will show only the best of talking pictures at moderate prices".
