The site where I found this theater had it listed as a single screen. It might actually be a quad.

The 1981 motion picture almanac shows the Skirball Investment Company as operators of the Bryan at that time. Jack Skirball was an investor who I believe started out with Warren Buffett. The Skirball Center in Bel Air, CA is the result of his endowment.

Here is a website for the Bryan Theater. It looks like it has three screens.

Take a look at the March 2006 photo. They must have gotten some advance bookings.

That's funny. The photo must have been replaced with a new photo. I posted the link in 2006 and the date on the photo is now May 15, 2009. I'm fast, but not that fast.

Otherwise Bryan would be the place to go for all the DVD pirates.

The July 1, 1939, issue of Boxoffice said that W.N. Skirball was building a theater, as yet unnamed, at Bryan, Ohio. The architect of the new house was John Eberson. It was expected to open by October 1. Unless Skirball built two theaters in Bryan about this time, the one the item referred to must have been the Bryan.

The item said that Skirball was also building a larger house at Massilon, Ohio, also designed by Eberson. I can't find any theaters currently listed for Massilon at Cinema Treasures.

A comment and question asked on flickr: "The Bryant use to be a single screen. Were three additional screens built on or was the original auditorium spilt up?" With 688 seats I wondered the same thing.

The 1998 IMPA lists the Bryan Theater with three screens and 400 seats. If that number is accurate, it would appear that the single screen theater was converted into a triplex and lost seats in the process.
