I don't remember when the Grand Cinemas was originally built, but the original owner was not Cineplex Odeon, rather a company that they had purchased (either RKO or Plitt), not quite sure. I do know, that in the 80's they added 3-4 new screens and office space for what became the Loews District office.

When Loews at the Alderwood opened, the district office was moved as well, and the theater played second run movies until it's closure in late 2005.
