Located in the Sint-Joost-ten-Node district, just to the North-West of the city centre. Originally opened in 1912 as a cafe/restaurant/cinema known as the Girafe. In 1931 it was re-named Casino Cinema.

In 1942, it was re-modeled to the designs of architect Rene Ajoux and re-named Mirano Cinema. A new streamlined canopy was erected two storeys high above the entrance. Seating was provided for 600 in orchestra and balcony levels. Further alterations were carried out by Rene Arjux in 1951.

The Mirano Cinema closed in 1978, and in 1981 was converted into the Mirano Continental Nightclub, later known as Dirty Dancing.
