The Aberystwyth Arts Centre opened in 1973. It is located on the campus of the University of Wales and contains a 327 seat auditorium that initally was used for live theatre. There is also a concert hall, known as the Great Hall, which seats 900.

The Arts Centre underwent a renovation in 2000 and cinema use began on 4th February 2000.
