Park Theatre

Ken, as usual your guesses are spot on: Park Hill Theatre in the "Historic Park Hill" neighborhood and JFK Blvd. It's hard to tell by what is there today whether it was razed or renovated into a separate piece of a small strip mall. Whatever happened was done in the early 2000s.

Boxoffice Magazine of January 25, 1941, said that Malco had announced a tentative opening date of March 1 for their new Park Hill Theatre. It was Malco's third house in North Little Rock.

This web page has a photo of the nondescript strip mall which had replaced the historic theater by 2004.

The address for this theatre in the Historical magazine is 406 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

Was there an aka on this theatre of Park Hill Theatre? In the magazine is mentions the old Park Hill on Main St. which becomes John F. Kennedy Blvd. so I figured this might be the same theatre.

I wonder if their were two theaters with similar names or is the Film Daily listing this theater incorrectly. The 1950 edition lists this theater as Ken Roe mentioned in the introduction above. In 1955 it appears to be two theaters listed this way:

Park Theater at 406 Ark. Mo Hwy with 700 seats.
Park Till Theater on Main Street with 750 seats.

Are they both the same theater? And could Park Till actually be the Park Hill Theater?

LM, in the article that I mentioned it refers to the Park Hill Theatre on Main St. Then in the article on the Liberty Theatre it sates the Liberty was a block away from the Park Hill Theatre in the 400 block of Main St. I am lead to believe that there were to theatres the Park and the Park Hill.

I had a feeling that it was a different theater. So the Park Hill Theater still needs to be added to CT. All we need is an address. Or maybe not. :)
