Opened on New Year's Day 1930 by Mr. Harry Bercovich. This was Regina's first "all talkie" theatre. It was designed in a Spanish Renaissance style with seating for 1,200. It had windows and balconies that overlooked the auditorium.

The Broadway Theatre was closed in 1931 due to the depression and remained closed until Mr. Bercovich reopened it in 1941. He continued to operate the theatre until he retired in 1954. It was then sold to the Famous Players Chain in 1969. Famous Players operated the Broadway Theatre until it closed permanently in 1981

It has since been demolished and in 2009, the Wingate by Wyndham Regina hotel occupies the site.
