Prince and Jade theaters were opened in 1977 by Shaw Organization and both theaters are located in Shaw Tower, one of Shaw Organization's main commercial building. Prince is the biggest of the 2 with 1,600 seats. Although both theaters are located in the same building, the location of each theater is on different floors. And it became more confusing when both theaters were converted into multiscreens.

In 1988, both Prince and Jade were converted into multi screens. Jade 2 eventually became Jade Classics, an art house cinema. In 1996, both Prince and Jade were sold to United Artists and renovated.

Finally in 2001, the cineplex was bought back by Shaw Organization.
