The Cinema was a 572-seat stalls and balcony purpose built cinema dating from around the 1920’s.

After closing it was converted into a bingo hall which lasted until 1992 and a serious attempt was made to return it to cinema use – but the local council refused planning permission.

It was sold and it became a hardware and furnishing store with a false floor inserted at balcony level, velux lights put into the roof and false ceilings at both levels.

There is nothing left at all inside from its cinema days.
