The 1934 Golden Jubilee edition of the Post-Register says that the Centre was called the Rex when it opened in 1913.

It was called the Falls into the mid 1970s when it was operated by DeMordaunt and Drennan. Since 1993, the Centre has been operated by Kent and Ingrid Lott’s Royal Theaters.

In 2002 new seats were installed in the Centre as well as the local Paramount Triplex, which they also operate. What lies beneath its relatively modern facade is anyone’s guess. When in town be sure to check out the Colonial and Rio theaters.

In 1952, the old Rex theatre was gutted with only the side walls and a portion of the floor remaining. The Post-Register said the cost of the new theatre with its glass and aluminum facade came in at around $30,000. It opened as the Falls Theatre on November 25, 1952 with "Red Ball Express." It had a first-run policy and sometimes second-runs of the more popular movies.
Its opening ad touted the features of the theatre:
Latest in theatre chairs (spaced for relaxation)
Best in sound and projection equipment
Cycloramic screen (easy on the eyes)
Pleasant appointments througout-- effective air conditioning
A few day before opening, a test reel of film caught fire causing $25 damage.
