New Year's Day 1924 saw the opening of the Capitol Theatre at 155 S Main Street. Later city directories show the address as 157 S. Main Street. The last entry for the Capitol is for the year 1969. The front part of the building was destroyed in the 1973 fire which took the neighboring Orpheum Theatre.

The back 80% of this building still stands, and painted columns can still be seen on the walls. The building is currently a photographic studio.

Fox Intermountain Theatres operated the Capitol Theatre from 1950 thru 1955. I found seating listed at 421.
