Turner's Station is a ship builder's neighborhood, south of Dundalk. The area was built for the black shipbuilders, and the movie theatre for the area was the Anthony Theatre.

It opened on March 22 1946 with John Wayne in "Dakota". Closed in 1960, the building stands to this day, and is used as a church.

This theater doesn't seem to map correctly. Should "Turner's Station" be part of the address, or should it just be Baltimore, MD.

Turner's Station is a town on the bay where ships were built. It was a black neighborhood in Baltimore County. It does map properly on MSN.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't map on Google, Mapquest or Yahoo maps unless you remove the Turner's Station. I haven't tried MSN yet but I'll take your word for it.

lost, here is a playbill for the Anthony showing the address and Turner's Station, Md. I didn't make it up. I also have a photo of the theatre today as a church, even though it don't look anything like it once was.

Chuck....I believe you. Does Turners Station still exist? Yahoo maps it at 102 Main St Baltimore, MD. Google maps are a pain in the butt to get some addresses to map and in this case Google returns 102 Main St Dundalk, MD. When I put the two maps side by side, they both appear to be the same location.

Unless it has been annexed or the Main Street name has been changed it still exists. We were there in 2004. It is south of Dundalk, Md. on highway 150 and South East of Baltimore City. I did some research and photos that I passed on to Tom Kilduff for his Maryland site.

I think the ad says East Main St but if you try to map 102 East Main St, Google Maps returns "Did you mean: 102 Main St, Dundalk, MD 21222"? I just thought that I would mention it before someone else brought it up. Don't be too concerned about it. I find lots of theaters that don't map right and I still sleep at night. :)

Maybe Dundalk has annexed the town of Turner's Station. I know that when we were there in 2003 there wasn't much left of the town. Since the ship yeards have pretty much all but died the town has done the same. The theatre was some sort of fellowship center or Christian Outreach when we were there.
