The Bear Tooth Theatre and Pub opened in 2000 in what was formerly the old Denali Theatre. During remodeling, seating was reduced from 600 to 400, with 275 on the main floor and 125 in the balcony. Every other row of seats was removed to make room for tables since not only does the Bear Tooth screen movies (second-run Hollywood fare, classic and art films) but also serves food and beer, as well as traditional popcorn and candy. A section of the auditorium is for under-21 seating. The theater also features ocassional live entertainment as well.

The Bear Tooth's owners also operate the Moose Tooth Brewing Company and the Moose Tooth Pub & Pizzeria in town. Both the Bear Tooth and Moose Tooth are named for peaks in the nearby Alaska Range.
