The Mount Clemens-Macomb opened in 1921 as a legitimate theater, and was converted into movies in the 1930s. The theater closed in the 1980s.

The theater then hosted live productions under the name Great Lakes Dinner Theater which operated until 1987.

Today the theater is part of the Emerald Theatre Complex. The theater hosts concerts, comedy shows, corporate events, and seminars.

A Hillgreen-Lane theater organ opus 609 size 2/26 was installed in the Macomb Theater in 1921 at a cost of $8,275.

Cjuck....Looks like a different building. Maybe the American Classic photo is labeled wrong.

LM, I think it is the same theatre, if you look at the photo posted on 4/14/09 you can see the reconstruction of the front. They really did a job on the theatre.

My previous comment should have spelled your name as Chuck. LOL

If the building in the 1979 photo and the 2008 photo are the same building, this theater had an extreme makeover. The building in the 1979 photo looks more modern than the building in the 2008 photo.
