The Baxter was completed in 1949 and my great-grandmother, Ima Evans owned and operated it until the early 1980's. My great-grandparents also owned/operated the Evans Theater for years before building the Baxter.

As of February 2008, the theater building is being used by First Security Bank for training purposes.

Is this the theatre that was near the Wal Mart?
If so, I saw Cannonball Run, and Superman II while on my senior summer vacation, while visiting grandparents.
