Opened as the Barco Star Vue Drive-In on April 28, 1950, accomodating 200 cars. Currently the Barco Drive-In has half the original name and double the capacity at 400 cars. It is open seasonally from April thru October.

Barco is in the process of being saved from closing. The owners are going to be leasing it to the owners of the Plaza Theatre, also in Lamar, and the manager from there will also operate it.

This drive-in shows its age (57 years old) but it still in good condition and still attracts large crowds. It'd be a shame to see this one closed up so I'm glad to see it going to stay open.
