This cinema is a fiveplex. It gets the name Cinema 12 from being located on Highway 12. It is a squared building with a large canopy over the entrance. On the front of the canopy is a large pylon sign in multi-colors with the theatre name.

The five auditoriums feature all stadium seating. It has midnight shows every Friday and Saturday and matinees on the weekends. The theatre originally opened in the 1970' as the Starkville Theatre with two screens. It received its new name when Hollywood Premiere Cinemas took it over.

It now operates as a discount movie theatre under an independent operator.

This information about Cinema 12 is incorrect. Starkville, MS has two movie theaters: Hollywood Premier Cinemas and Cinema 12 (also known as Starkville Theater). The information provided here seems to be a mix of the two. I am the general manager of Hollywood Premier, and have worked at Cinema 12. Cinema 12 is mostly a squared building. It was opened in the 1970's with two screens. The building now has five screens, but was closed in December 2003, after a 'takeover' by Hollywood Premier that was unable to make it profitable. The name is taken from the fact that it rests on Highway 12. Hollywood Premier Cinemas opened in July 2000 with eight screens, all stadium seating, all curved screens. The building is undergoing an addition that will make the total screen count eleven, the largest theater in north Mississippi. Of these eleven screens, six will have Dolby digital sound. Photos, theater information, and contact information can be found on the theater's website at: www.hollyoodpremiercinemas.com
