This 1928 movie palace located in the heart of downtown Burlington enjoyed a complete restoration/renovation sponsored by the City of Burlington and the Alamance County Arts Council. It reopened on Feb. 18, 1998, and currently hosts a wide variety of events including plays, musicals, concerts, gospel performances, business and community meetings, travelogues, and classic movies.

I have seen two shows at this Venue. It has been lovingly restored and it is a very impressive job done on it. I liked it so well that my partner and I are presenting concerts there. Its just such a wonderful little place.

According to this website, this theater opened December 19, 1928 as the Grand Theater at 128 East Front Street. The name was changed to the Paramount Theater on September 2, 1929.

The Paramount, Carolina, and Alamance were owned by North Carolina Theatres, Inc. per ad in the 1940 "Doe Wah Jack", Burlington High School annual.
