The Sugarhouse Movies 10 opened in March of 1992 by Cinemark Theatres. It is located in the Sugarhouse Shopping Center.

The theatre fetures stereo sound in all auditoriums that range in size from 160 in the smaller ones to 298 in the larger ones. The larger auditoriums are equipped with Dolby Stereo.

The Sugarhouse was built as a "dollar theatre" with Cinemark's goal to fill a void between first run films and home video. They were trying to get families back into the theatres after being priced out. They felt that parents with four or five children would return to the movies.

The theatre was built inside an existing building with two theatres and rest rooms added to the side of the building. They did a fantastic job on reconstruction and adding the front entrance. You would believe the building was built from the ground up as a movie theatre.
