Why do these places always look so sleazy? Pussycat Theaters had the right idea when they kept their theaters maintained, inside and out. I’m not a big porno fan, but, if you’re going to operate any kind of theater, keep it looking dignified. I worked in theaters for many years; it doesn’t cost a lot for basic maintenance.

During the 80s a local theater company named “Storefront” used the theater for live plays and musicals. “Vaudeville Returns” was one of their stage shows. Their shows were always very professionally produced.

In the 4/20/09 post those two 1982 photos show the Paris Theatre marquee reads ‘Vaudeville Returns’. Did the Paris attempt to bring back live vaude, or was it just cheap burlesque?

I miss this as a punk venue. I use to go, hang out at Another State of mind, a punk store that is attached to the same building, then go to a show.
