“A view of the north end of Libertyville’s business district on the east side of Milwaukee Avenue. Some of the businesses that can be identified are Herschberger’s Appliance Store, the Quality Bake Shop, Mackey’s Jewelry Store and Woolworth’s. In the foreground, a tall vertical sign attached to the brick front of the Gridley Building reads "La Villa.” The La Villa was a movie theater located on the second floor of the building. It ceased operation in 1937 when the new Liberty Theatre debuted".
