60 years and still going, thats great.
I seem to remember that back in the 60’s, when I was a kid driving through Dickson, that there as a drive in theater, I think called the Broadway, on the west side of town along the highway, and that it closed and the current Broadway opened on the east side of Dickson. Does anybody remember the other drive in,or is my memory faulty?
I just called and they are closed????
Approx. address for this drive-in was 3060 Broadway of America Highway, Burns, TN 37029. According to Drive-Ins.com, this is one is now closed.
Status may have be changed to reflect this…
I think that the Boadway Drive-In was originally named the Midway Drive-In as it was built about 1950 by my uncle, J.C. Harris, III, in partnership with my grandparents, I.W. & Anne Boden, who already had built and operated the Sundown Drive-In Theater in Paris, TN since 1948. They all sold their interests in the Midway sometime by the 1970’s.
It’s closed, but has been for sale for a few years.
