The Palace Theatre opened in 1922 and was in continuous operation until 2000 when the theater was closed and sold. It is now a western wear store.

This is a recent photo of the former Palace Theater building, now a clothing store named “Parts Unknown”.

Does the store take up just the lobby or did they level the auditorium floor?
I found this theatre while reading about another Palace Theatre in Georgetown Texas. Interesting question posed by Chuck and I hope we get an answer.
The facade of this theatre posted in 2007 by member Don Lewis is very interesting and shows the detail of the marquee and tile work. Yet below the marquee it isn’t a theatre anymore which is a shame.
