I did a real estate search on this address and this is one of those rare cases where no build date is listed for this building. I checked whatever property records that I could find. Up until the mid sixties this building is listed as an F.W. Woolworths store. The building was leased to Woolworths so I doubt that Woolworths replaced the building. I found nothing to indicate that the Select Theater building was demolished. Today, this building is listed as a store/storage building.

This theater must have closed by 1928 since the Woolworths store was located there on December 9, 1929. The building was altered and not replaced. Owner Samuel Palley leased the building to F.W. Woolworths.

The mailing address for this theater was in fact 1671 Pitkin Ave, but the theater building itself faced Chester. It’s all one lot, the theater building, and the store building on Pitkin Ave. The theater still exists, and is seen in the street view above.
