The Tahlequah Drive-In was opened in 1949 and owned and operated by Jerry Archer. It was a single screen ozoner with a capacity of 250. It was closed by a tornado in 2003 and was demolished in 2005.

The information presented here is not correct. The Tahlequah Drive-In was north of the town and is now an auto salvage yard. The Green Country Cinemas were built before the Drive-In was closed because of high winds that blew down the screen.

The correct address (at least for Google) is 14600 Oklahoma 82, Tahlequah, OK. Currently, the property is the site of an auto salvage yard, but the ticket booth, projection booth/concession stand, and part of the marquee still stand. http://tinyurl.com/jkvvce4
This should not be confused with Green Country Cinemas which is located in another part of the town.
A 2016 Google Street View appears to show the ticket booth and concession stand/projection booth are no longer there. The CS/PB still appears on the overhead, but given its condition, it is not surprising that it is now gone.
The Daily Oklahoman, in a drive-in roundup published Aug. 21, 2005, wrote, “You can spend some time weeping because you missed seeing a movie at the Tahlequah Drive-In, opened in 1949 and closed by a tornado two years ago”
I lived in Tahlequah during that time. The screen had been damaged by a storm and was being secured by (I kid you not) a cable on one side connected to a pickup truck.
I do remember a wind storm finally knocking down the screen, but I do not know for sure if it was a tornado. But the screen was already mortally wounded, it was just a matter of time before it came down.
