NewPort Drive-In

The NewPort Drive-In opened in 1949 as the Autoport Drive-In. This drive-in had a capacity for 450 cars. The name was changed to the NewPort Drive-In in 1975. Three years later, this drive-in closed.

LEVINE THEATRICAL ENTERPRISES was the chain for this Drive-In (at least while it was called the Autoport).

If you go to MAP, enlarge it as much as posible and click on SATELLITE or HYBRID you can clearly see the drive-in site just to the left of the arrow. I wonder how old the photo is and if the land has anything on it yet?

This site was redeveloped to a small single family neighborhood a few years ago.
