The restaurant in this old theater is not called the Princess restaurant as the caption states. It is called El Norteno.

I don’t think this photo of the Princess Theater has been posted before.

It looks like there is (or was) a Mexican restaurant in the lobby:

Does anyone know if the Estey theater organ that was installed in the Princess Theater in Bloomington, IN, is still there?

I also thought those dates were for some type of renovation Bryan. Now I find that there are two listings for this address on the National Register of Historic Places. This is the Princess Theater listing:

Princess Theatre (added 1983 – Building – #83000112)
Also known as See Also:Princess Theatre Building (Boundary Decrease)
206 N. Walnut St., Bloomington
Historic Significance: Architecture/Engineering
Architect, builder, or engineer: Nichols,John
Architectural Style: No Style Listed
Area of Significance: Architecture
Period of Significance: 1900-1924
Owner: Private
Historic Function: Recreation And Culture
Historic Sub-function: Theater
Current Function: Commerce/Trade, Domestic
Current Sub-function: Multiple Dwelling, Restaurant

The next one is listed as the Princess Theater building:

Princess Theatre Building (Boundary Decrease) (added 1987 – Building – #87000999)
Also known as See Also:Princess Theatre
206 N. Walnut St., Bloomington
Historic Significance: Event
Area of Significance: Performing Arts, Entertainment/Recreation
Period of Significance: 1875-1899, 1900-1924

Both are 206 Walnut St. The “Period of Significance” is different on the two listings. Anyone know what a “Boundary Decrease” is?

The 1945 Film Daily Yearbook lists the Princess as open and seating 918. I wonder if the dates refer to the theater’s original opening date, and the other two are the years it was remodeled/rebuilt?

There is a photo of the Princess theater/restaurant at the following link:

It is the fourth photo down. Under the photo there are three dates listed. Does anyone know what those dates mean? I assume that one of them is the theater build date.
