Edna Theater, Gibson City, IL - Masonic Temple plaque

The Edna Theater was located on East Eighth Street in Gibson City. The Edna Theater was opened in 1924. In the 1945 Film Daily Yearbook, it is still listed as open with seating for 500. It was closed in 1977.

Any additional information on the Edna would be appreciated.

Listed in the 1940 Gibson City Directory of Ford County, IL. Edna Theater – T.L. Orr owner – E. 8th St. In the same directory, T.L. Orr is listed as Tracey Orr with a residence at 504 N. Church St which is 4 or 5 blocks from East 8th st.

The Edna Theater, at 108 E. Eighth Street, Gibson City, IL is now a Masonic Temple.

What??? That will come as news to the Harvest Moon Drive-In, located less than a mile away.
