Kilgore Drive-In

The Kilgore Drive-In was located south of town on Highway 259. It was opened in 1951 when it was operated by Liggett N. Crim & East Texas Theatres Inc. By 1952 it was operated by by Julius M. Gordon of Jefferson Amusement Co. an affiliate of United Paramount Theatres. The Kilgore Drive-In was closed in 1975.

Everything has been demolished except for the marquee which has been restored. The empty lot went back to nature, but in recent years two schools have been built on the site.

The Kilgore ISD has recently purchased this tract of land on which to build schools. It is their intent to update and incorporate the marquee into modern use.
