The Mid-City stood on Madison Street near the corner of Jefferson Street in the West Loop area. It was opened in April 1925. The Film Daily Yearbook of 1945 lists it as closed with seating for 350. Today, the site is occupied by the Harold Washington Social Security Administration Center.

The opening of the Mid City Theatre was mentioned in the May 2, 1925, issue of The Moving Picture World :

“Paul Rutishauser opened his Mid-City Theatre on West Madison street, Chicago, last month. Many film folk turned out to congratulate him upon his fine little 300-seat house.”
