The Viking Drive-In opened in 1952 as the Powell Valley Drive-In. The name was changed to the Viking Drive-In in 1979. About a year later this drive-in closed.

In 1975 the Powell Valley Drive-In had a capacity for 350 cars.

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in. The address currently displayed in the heading is a residential area about 1 mile west of the drive-in. It may have been the residence of the manager or owner.

In 1956 someone was calling it the Hiway Movie Drive-in.Parking 200 cars and owned by J.B.Walsh.
