The May 23, 1908 Grand Opening ad for the Airdome plus arcade in Alton (at left). An example of a movie ad at center, and then the final shows, “Life’s a Funny Proposition” on Sept. 1, 1919. The Airdome would be torn down early in 1920 to make way for a fireproof structure.
