Drake Theater

The Drake Theatre was located on Collinsville Ave. just North of State Street. It was on the east side of the street. The building was a single story building but rather wide, equal to at least three buildings on the same block. There was a fire in the building after the theatre closed and in the late 60’s or early 70’s it was completely redone into a nightclub for live black performers. It has since closed and been boarded up for many years.
