The Super Cinema was the first multiplex to open in Davenport, with ten screens. The theatre opened in 1990 by National Amusements showing first run attractions. It did great business until National Amusements opened its Showcase Cinemas 53 located on 53rd Street. The Super Cinema Davenport became a sub run discount house after the opening of the Showcase 53 until it was closed.
