Due to RCMH’s decision to show the “flat” version in the NYC premiere engagement, “Kiss Me Kate” had its first 3-D booking in the area at Loew’s Met in downtown Brooklyn following the Music Hall date. After the Met, the top Loew’s nabes also ran “Kate” in 3-D, but “flat” prints gradually replaced as the Technicolor musical finished its territorial play-off.
